NEW Resuscitation Guidelines released for 2015!

The UK Resuscitation Council have released the latest guidelines and these can be found using the following link -

The changes are strongly in support of extending the link between CPR and defibrillation. In the UK more people need to be trained in CPR and how to use a defibrillator to increase chances of survival. All school children should be taught CPR and how to use a defibrillator.

A brief glance at survival rates in the UK over the past few years (based on out of hospital figures of cardiac arrest victims) -

In 2005 the survival rates were around 5%

In 2015 survival rates were around 8%

If more poeple were trained in CPR and there were more defibrillators available we feel that survival rates can be doubled in the UK!
